Welcome to the Mayfield Dinner Theatre! The 2011-2012 Season was a great success; and we are looking forward to another successful year!
We opened our season with PART 2 of FOUR LADS WHO SHOOK THE WORLD, paying tribute to the music of The Beatles from 1967-1970. Part 1, which opened last season, proved to be tremendously popular and we are excited to conclude the story by showcasing the era in which the the Beatles recorded five of the greatest albums of all time ,before the band’s break up in 1970.
Our Holiday show this year is back by popular demand! We are very excited to present BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY. Experience the incredible legacy of the young man with the glasses, whose musical career spanned an all-too-brief period during the golden days of rock ‘n’ roll. This incredibly popular production is back with added scenes, a new look, and the same energetic music that you loved the first time around!
To kick off the New Year we will be will be presenting SHEAR MADNESS, a hilarious mystery-comedy that has been voted “Best Comedy of the Year” by the Boston Globe and is listed in the Guinness Book of World records as “the longest running play in US Theatre History”. A mixture of improvisation and a fast-paced script, the play is delightfully different every time you see it. Don’t miss this hysterical comedy that will have you dying with laughter!
The spring begins with 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL, a musical tale of friendship and female empowerment! Based on the hit film “9 to 5” staring Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton, this show features the blockbuster title song 9 to 5, plus an exciting score of 18 original numbers penned by the iconic Dolly Parton herself. This show provides the perfect reason to gather your friends or plan a girl’s night out!
To close our season we present DRIVING MISS DAISY, the warm hearted and humorous story of the unexpected relationship between a stubborn Southern Matriarch and her soft spoken Chauffeur. DRIVING MISS DAISY will star Michael Learned from The Walton’s.
Don’t miss this play that has won the Pulitzer Prize and has become one of the most beloved stories of the late twentieth century.
