Welcome to the Mayfield Dinner Theatre! The 2010-2011 Season was a great success; thank you for making that happen! After spending six weeks closed for renovations this summer, we are happy to be back in business in a big way with a brand new theatre and the 2011-2012 Season.
We opened in September with Four Lads Who Shook the World: Part 1, telling the story of The Beatles from 1957-1966. The show has just closed and it proved to be tremendously popular, setting the stage for next season's Part 2 (continuing on 1967-1970).
Our show this holiday season appears in the form of The Wedding Singer, playing until February 5th. It has just opened to great reviews. This musical is based on the 1998 Adam Sandler movie and has a cast of 25 talented actors, singers and musicians who will have you laughing and tapping your toes throughout the evening.
Once again, we will bring in the New Year with two back-to-back Broadway hits. First we present the Boeing Boeing. It's a classic six-actor, door slammin' comedy. This 60's hit show was revived on Broadway and London's west end in 2008 and played to packed houses and gained critical reviews, winning the Tony for best actor. We were very fortunate to acquire the rights to present this brilliant comedy to Edmonton for the first time. Then, in April, we will be presenting to you one of the great musicals in the history of the stage. Chicago appears at the Mayfield starting April 17th for a 9 week run. John Ullyatt will be back on our stage, this time in the role of Billy Flynn. Chicago also marks the return of Pamela Gordon and Sarah Jean Hosie to our stage, in the leading female roles.
To close our season we present Sylvia, a play about a man and his new found stray dog. It's a truly unique look at relationships, performed by an extraordinarily talent cast, starring Cindy Williams and Eddie Mekka (of Laverne and Shirley fame).
